Spaghetti Bridge 1

Update 5/14
We have found some blueprints on the internet to use for our spaghetti structure. We are narrowing down to the ones  that look simple but will work to our standards.

Update 5/15
We have found our designs that should work and meet our requirements. We want to have a sturdy but elegant structure. We feel that the blueprints we are using are high class.

Update 5/16
We have started making our blueprints for our spaghetti bridges. We haven't made many changes to it, except minor reinforcements on some of the bottom structures. We added a few more supports on the base of our bridge, we should finish our blueprints by tomorrow, so we can start assembling our bridge.

Update 5/17
We have completely finished 1 of our spaghetti bridge designs. We spent extra time on making sure it is how we want it to be. Making sure every spaghetti part is being efficiently. We are mainly finished with our other design, we just wanted to make sure the first is done with elegance and care.

Update 5/18
The blueprints are officially done and reinforced to their best ability. We think spending extra time on the blueprints is a positive thing because we want them to be well designed before we build. We can start creating our spaghetti masterpiece next week. The extra time to plan is a vital and important process so when we get to the next step we will know what we need to assemble.

Update 5/21
We have started building our bridge design. Assembling the sides, the first step. We are making one of the sides, and so far it is working good. Adding lots of x's in the bridge is important, so we will make an effort to get those done.

Update 5/22
We have finished both sides of the design. They seem pretty sturdy like they can withhold a kilogram. We will know soon. Next is connecting it.

Update 5/23
We have connected them together, after doing little extra work done on the bottom and more important parts of our bridge, we feel that it can withstand the weight that will be put on. We will test it after adding a few more durable pieces on it.

Update 5/24
The bridge has done it's requirements. It lasted the time and held up. We are done with this one. The next bridge we will work on after the little break.

Update 5/28
We have started making the next bridge. Now that we have finished the other one, this one isn't as stressful to make. We have finished one side of this one. We will do the the other side soon to come.

Update 5/29
The sides are done, and now we need to connect the sides. We will do that and then we will test it when we are ready.

Update 5/30
We made the sides connect. We tested the bridge but it broke. It's fine because the other won met the standards.

Story
This morning my tubesock Rodrigo said, "Stop flusterbating the cat, the waffle iron is tickling his gibblets. He's getting frisky. My eggrolls are getting hard just thinking about it. It's like Hong Kong all over again except without the taco sauce in between my toes. Mmmmh." So i said, "1 fish, 2 fish, red fish, blue fish. Nick nack patty wack give a dog a bone." I ripped his wife Margaret in half and said, "Shut your filthy mouth." Then I soiled myself and cried.Thats how I learned how to knit baby diapers for the homeless.

A Man Dressed Like Santa Was Living Inside My Hot Tub

A skateboard can have a lot of use especially the one I own. It can be a device for traveling and can have lots of meaning. It has a significance to what I usually do a lot of days. I will go and skate around areas that are good. Like a ledge, or a ramp, or even a curb. I will go skate to food places. The way I go through town is skating instead of other transportation. To skate around places is a lot more beneficial to do. Go anywhere with it. It is an artifact itself. It has a significance in every trick that you do. You can remember when you are at a certain spot and did tricks there and if you did it or not. It just has all of those things in it. When you go to spots you have been before you recall tricks you have attempted, also people who have done tricks there. Then if you go somewhere that you have not been to before it makes you think of all of the things to do there. It is awesome. I was at this school that almost gives a sense of being far away from town. Skateboarding there was fun because I had not been there before. At the school they have benches. So after a while I started trying things on this bench. I tried some things on it, not really trying that hard to do anything. I kept skating it though. I started trying a different trick and thought that I might be able to land it.  Then I started to fall and realized I was getting closer and closer to it.  That's when I started trying to do it more committingly.  After seeing that I was getting closer to landing it, my amigos thought it would be a good idea to film me landing this extraordinary trick.  I had brought my camera just in case there was something that needed to be filmed like most times we skate.  So once I started getting the trick filmed, it seemed that it was much more difficult than it had felt before we started filming.  This trick had seemed unreachable.

I would try the trick repeatedly trying to get as much tries in as possible.  I would throw my board on the ground just before jumping on it to roll up to the bench.  Once approaching it to do the trick, I would hear the button on the camera pressed knowing that it was recording.  It starts to get tiring after trying the trick multiple times without stopping.  Even though it was starting to get exhausting, I was getting more familiar in attempting this trick.  My friend who was filming would tell me, "you only have 15 minutes of battery, so land it soon."  Which would add on to the frustration of landing the trick.  Then what seemed like no time at all, he would tell me, "10 minutes left."  Then it turned into "5 minutes left."  After just about 10 tries, the battery eventually ran out.  I was not expecting this trick to take such a large amount of time.

Now after trying this trick for a while, I needed to find an outlet to charge the camera.  So now I will have to wait for the camera to charge to try the trick.  After trying repeatedly, I can go and sit down while the camera charges.  I found an outlet not too far from the bench, still at the school. I sat there and went through my pieces that pertained to the camera.  It is a nice video camera, it is a handycam.  There is a few lenses that I have that I was looking at.  One of them is a fish eye lens that is used for more up close filming.  In this case I was not getting the trick filmed up close which made it unnecessary to use.  I ended up not even using a lens on the camera instead it was filmed in a certain way called long lensing.  Filming long lens usually means you must be a large distance between the filmer and what is being filmed.  I waited for a while and looked at the camera battery on the display as it showed only half an hour of life which seemed like I sat there forever and it did not charge at all.  It was starting to get late which meant I had less time to keep attempting this trick.  So I got up, unplugged the video camera and needed to land it.

After I was ready to try it and was ready to get filmed, I started the whole repetitive process over of trying to land the trick soon.  I started out trying it again and it was like I had not tried it in days which made it seem a lot more difficult to get to the place where I was almost landing it.  I started to get to the point where it was just a few tries away.  Then I got on my skateboard as I rode up to the bench having a feeling that it was going to be the one that I landed.  I went for the trick and amazingly landed it.  The camera unfortunately did not get the look of the trick the way it was suppose to look.  I decided to land it again because of the way the trick was captured.  I attempted it a few more times and landed it pretty fast compared to the other attempts. It turned out I did not like the way it looked so I did it many more times.  Finally, I got the one I wanted.  I felt extremely accomplished and satisfied.  The skateboard can make you feel a sense of gratitude.  All of the tries and frustrations are worth the final outcome of landing it.  That is why the skateboard is considered to be an artifact on its own.  It is something to be appreciative of when you are on a skateboard.

Meat Skittles

In the book, The Catcher In The Rye, Holden has lots of issues if you have been reading. He is always complaining about everything, it's like all that he likes to do, is just complain. It's almost like he has a view of the people he sees, and really just makes assumptions about these people. There are some people that he does have respect and shows affection for. The person that he shows most affection for is his sister. Her name is Pheobe, and she is younger but he says that she's really smart. In a part where he comes home and sees her he says how she can tell how you feel, especially when she was asking him about not going to school anymore. It is apparent that he has respect for her, though he went and got a rare album for her, it broke. He brought the broken album to her, but she thought it was still caring. Holden sees that everyone, almost, is just and idiot. It seems. Whenever he meets someone, he has something terrible to say of how they are. Holdens thoughts are like a baroque of insults that he just thinks. Almost everyone is fake to him. The bartender he says is a fake for asking him a question. He thinks that she really has no interest in what he says. Showing Holden of how he has no care for anything, makes him seem repetitive on the way he says how he is the only person who isn't a douche. He is drunk in one scene and you can see how he acts different. He is being extremely loud talking about sexual things with his friend. When he is leaving he acts like he was shot in the stomach like in movies. He did that also at the hotel with the prostitute. Acting like he was wounded by a bullet and crouching over like he sees. When he is normal he seems to always be in a perfunctory style, not really showing care for anyone.

Occupy Oakland is still growing in number and they are unsatisfied with how the money with the banks is being handled. Banks such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase, and any large bank corporations. The Occupy organization want change, much like Holden does. He doesn't want his life to be where he goes to school, and works for the rest of his life. He was talking about not wanting to do the same things as what most people do. The Occupy organizations just want it to be different. They want it to be fair. In the book he just wants his life to not be a boring life of how thinks it could. The protesting actions went bestial as the riot squads went to the protesters and started using tear gas with other ways to end the actions. Some people did try to sleep in a bank in San Fran. The people are going for hedonism in the protest. They won't put an end to it.

Shoes, Child Pants, and New Car Smell

This week we have read more of, "The Great Gatsby" and many of the people have been showing differences. We have watched part of the movie which was good to see to really see how they have changed. We have learnd a lot about the main person, Gatsby who really loves, or appears to be in love with the other main person Daisy. Daisy leads him on to believe that she is also wanting him, but really she is just messing with him, with mind tricks.
It appears that Daisy is just wanting the wealth and doesn't care about anything else. Tom has seemed to be catching on to all of the things that she has been doing. He heard her say, "I love you" to him while they were inside his house talking about leaving and get away. It may be that she will do most things to get what she wants from him. Tom is lacking impontence with his relationship.
So far we have just been reading the book in class and taking notes, that we discuss through class after reading the chapters. I think the book so far is not interesting but it may get more intriguing. We have also been describing the changes that Daisy makes. Now that Daisy is trying to do something with someone else, you can tell how she can change for something. This is very ephemeral to her own.
In Reno there was an air race that ended horribly in crashing into the audience and injuring lots of people that were watching. It went down and killed at least 10 people while injuring lots of people. It is a high speed racing event that if anything went wrong it could end in what happened a little while ago. The veteran pilot lost control of World War 2 era plane crashed, and sent shrapnel into crowds.
There is many off and on calls about these races and so many hazards that can happen. This is an antithesis to most sports. There are so many rules that need to be used while the planes are in the air, but there are still many ways that something like this could happen. All of the events that people watch can be a safety issue for them, as debris and parts can fall into the stands.
FILE - In this Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 photo, a P-51 Mustang airplane approaches the ground right before crashing during an air show in Reno, Nev. The vintage World War II-era fighter plane piloted by Jimmy Leeward plunged into the grandstands during the popular annual air show. Two crashes at two air shows in two days, one that killed spectators, the other just the pilot far from fans. But there was another big difference ? fire. (AP Photo/Garret Woodman)
There aren't any impediments that can stop a plane from falling into the people. Only watching the race from where you are can be a hazard because anything in the race can take place where they are. The people in the event are also facing safety things that they need to see.
This event was a day that people will remember in the air races.
